Employee Spotlight: Cyndy Besselievre

Cyndy Besselievre is the Homan Resources/Finance Administrator at Western States Cancer Research NCORP.

When did you start working at WSCR-NCORP?
May of 2019

What is your favorite part of working at WSCR-NCORP?
I love that we are a team and everyone helps wherever needed. For example, I have experience in fundraising and event planning so I really enjoy helping with our annual events including our Drive for the Cure Golf Tournament fundraiser to be held this year on Monday, August 14 at Valley Country Club in Centennial. One of the ways I assist is reaching out to  local companies to ask if they would like to sponsor the event or donate an item or service to the silent auction. What do you like most about the work we do here?
The work we do brings cancer clinical trials to people in their local communities. Our commitment to serve rural and underserved communities is important to me.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?
The opportunity to work in the non-profit community.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you that they would be surprised to find out?
I started out in college as an art major. I still dabble in it once in a while but hope someday to get back into it again.

What’s one thing that surprised you about your current role?
That this late in my career, I could still learn so much.

What’s one thing on your bucket list?
Gardening. I absolutely do not have a green thumb but would love to have my own vegetable garden.
