Kayla Clancy is the Investigational Product and Research Specialist at Western States Cancer Research NCORP.

When did you start working at WSCR-NCORP?
August of 2018

What is your favorite part of working at WSCR-NCORP?
That if I want to take an opportunity to learn something new or attend a conference, it is always encouraged.

What do you like most about the work you do here?
I like that we get to see the big picture. We are involved at the end of the research process by helping facilitate phase 3 & 4 clinical trials. When results are published from these studies, it is a culmination of many teams and decades of work.

How did you get started in the field of research?
I began doing genomics and bioinformatics research during undergrad at The University of Colorado Boulder.

What is one thing that surprises you about your current role?
That there is always more to learn. Oncology is a very extensive field that is always changing so learning about new drugs, tests, and biological mechanisms always keeps things new and interesting.

What’s one thing on your “bucket list”?
Attending Star Wars Celebration. Hopefully it will come back to Denver soon since it started here in 1999.
