Clinical Research In Your Community
Since our inception in 1983, WSCR-NCORP has worked with physicians to deliver numerous research breakthroughs, resulting in an unprecedented level of cancer control, and a survival rate that is almost doubled what it was ten years ago. As an affiliate of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), we continue to be a key player in the development and implementation of breakthrough clinical cancer trials as well as innovative treatment studies that offer patients an entirely new spectrum of options and REAL hope for extending and saving lives.
Resources
Nearly two million people in the United States are diagnosed with cancer each year, and there are 16.9 million people who have, at some point,
been diagnosed with cancer. Odds are most of us have been touched by cancer in some way.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a cure for all cancers, but one day we will. Until then, we continue to provide treatments and medications
that slow the progression of the disease, reduce the symptoms, and extend lives.
A Message from our CEO/Executive Director
Dear Friends.
February is Cancer Prevention Month. While it may not seem like it falls easily into the context of the month of love, cancer prevention has everything to do with the power of love.
January has proven to be a very trying time for federally funded organizations such as ours. We partner with another federally funded organization: The Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP). As indicated by its moniker, DCP is dedicated to developing and validating new ways to prevent cancer and cancer-related deaths and reduce the burden of cancer and cancer therapies. The heart of the DCP mission is to continue to reduce cancer occurrence and morality through education and early detection...
Making A Difference Since 1983
Each year, we have approximately 300 cancer patients participating in an average of 80 clinical trials that study a variety of cancers which include cancer control, prevention, treatment, and pharmaceutical trials. We have more than 70 physicians conducting cancer research in Colorado, Alaska, California, Kentucky, and the state of Washington, and nearly 1,500 patients are being followed for their post-treatment health status.

“The role I feel I have played is that my cancer is helping scientist and researchers to improve treatments for future cancer patients. My part is small, but as more people participate, the impact can be significant.”
